So I got to thinking… “can Quadrax be run at audio rate?” and the answer is, YEP. It sounds pretty wicked, too. Lots of different sounds can be coaxed from the shape and rise (waveform) knobs in LFO mode.

This clip features two channels of Quadrax at audio rate and the other two channels are envelopes. STO is the kick and Plaits is the hi-hat.

I also had a little bit of a breakthrough with the high hats when I realized I could halve the beat, run the hats through a delay, and play with timing and the dry/wet mix to get a bit of a shuffle going. Then I ran them through a gated VCA to keep everything tight.

Dance music on modular is ridiculous but pretty fun, I must admit.
